3 KEYS TO NURTURE SELF-MOTIVATION IN YOUR STUDENTS
Dr. Louann Schwager Tung
Dr. Louann Schwager Tung is an empowerment engineer. As a life-long, self-motivated learner herself, she empowers teachers and parents to nurture self-motivation in their students to lead them to a fulfilling and successful life.
She has a PhD in nuclear engineering and worked at Lawrence Livermore National Lab for 22 years. For the past ten years, she has been on an intense spiritual journey that has taken her to India, Cambodia and Thailand. Because of what she learned and wanted to share, she founded and led a meditation group at LLNL for 5 years. Her career shifted in 2009 when she learned about the physiology of emotions and HeartMath and became a licensed HeartMath Provider. It was a perfect merging of her spiritual path and engineering.
She retired from LLNL in 2013 to pursue her lifelong passion to empower children through their teachers and parents. After watching her son in 5th grade have a full-on anxiety attack before a math test, she started on this path to find a better way to parent. She discovered Positive Discipline and found it to be in alignment with deep spiritual truths. She then became certified as a Positive Discipline Parenting Facilitator and learned how to teach these skills experientially to teachers and parents in retreats, workshops and programs.
Dr. Tung is also an engaging motivational speaker for teacher and parent conferences.
